How to cancel
Cancellation requests must be made in writing to admin@siamintravel.com, quoting your booking reference. The date we receive your written request is the date used to calculate any charge — not the date you decided, and not the date of a phone call.
What it costs to cancel
The charge depends on how far before departure we receive your written cancellation. The bands below run against the total package value.
| When we receive it | We retain | You get back |
|---|---|---|
| More than 45 days before departure | 10% | 90% |
| 45 to 31 days | 50% | 50% |
| 30 to 15 days | 75% | 25% |
| 14 days or fewer, or no-show | 100% | — |
Refunds
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method by Thumb360 Digital and Consulting Services, as the party that collected the payment.
Refunds are initiated within five working days of approval. How long the money then takes to appear depends on your bank or card issuer and on the payment gateway’s own processing times, which we do not control.
What happens to the TCS
Tax Collected at Source is refunded on a cancellation. Because TCS is remitted to the Government of India against a specific PAN, the credit is returned to the PAN it was collected under rather than being handed back as cash with the fare — so the traveller claims it against their own tax liability. Give us the correct PAN at booking; a wrong one is slow and awkward to unwind.
GST on a cancellation
GST already charged on the value of the package follows the refund. Where a cancellation charge is retained, GST applies to the amount retained.
Circumstances outside our control
Boat-based excursions are subject to sea conditions and may be moved or cancelled by the operator or the harbour authority on safety grounds. Where an excursion cannot run, we will offer an alternative date where possible or refund that component.
What is never refundable
Some costs are gone the moment they are incurred, whichever band your cancellation falls into. Where a booking contains any of these, they are deducted first and the sliding scale is applied to what remains:
- Flights already ticketed, and any airline change or cancellation fee
- Hotel rates booked on a non-refundable basis, where the package page said so
- Visa fees, and any government or consular charge already paid
- National park fees, entrance tickets and event tickets already purchased on your behalf
- Any supplier charge already incurred and not recoverable by us
We will always tell you which of these applies to your booking before you confirm a cancellation, so you can decide with the real number in front of you.
How the bands are counted
The boundaries are read in the traveller’s favour at the edges: a cancellation received exactly 45 days before departure falls in the 50% band, and one received exactly 30 days before falls in the 75% band. Days are counted against the departure date on your confirmed itinerary.
